During the summer holidays (from June to September) VillArte offers workshops for children and teenagers. The art course has already begun. Every Wednesday we meet at 5 pm in the old school and learn new methods and new techniques.
That’s what we learned at the first appointment: Did you know that it was the famous painter and sculptor Pablo Picasso who, more than 100 years ago, introduced the art of collage (pastes) to art with his friend Georges Braque?
Here is the first collage in art history:
The work is called “Still–Life with Chair Caning” and is made by Pablo Picasso, 1912. (Oil on oil-cloth over canvas edged with rope, 29×37 cm Paris, Museo Picasso).
With this inspiration in the background, we also cut out photos and drawings from magazines and then stuck them on paper. Here are the results:
Wednesday, 4.7. we meet to see how Picasso made his famous portraits. And then we will imitate him!
At 18.30 we offer an English language course on art and culture. Special attention is paid to the correct pronunciation of English. What is the difference between naturalistic art and abstract art? This will be the theme of the first meeting.
A workshop for young journalists is also planned. And maybe we will repeat our circus school. It depends on you, boys and girls!
If you stay in Villatalla in the summer and would like to teach the children something, you are very welcome. This can take place as a small course with one or two meetings. Please contact us about VillArte.
